Warehouses and logistics are a key part of our regional economy and a huge employer in the Inland Region. While hundreds of warehouses have been built across our community, communities and workers have not received the benefits of this development. Temporary jobs paying minimum wage, unhealthy air, and employer abuse of immigrant workers are among the problems we see again and again in this sector.
In a historic alliance, WWRC is partnering with Teamsters Local 1932, Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice, Worksafe, Sierra Club and Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice to establish an intersectional partnership, aligning for a fair and sustainable goods movement sector.
We invite you hear from community members about a new vision for how the warehouse sector could be a positive player in our region, respecting workers and communities. Candidates for regional and municipal seats will attend and hear from the community on these issues. Join us Wednesday, October 24 from 6-9 PM at Teamsters Local 1932, 433 N. Sierra Way, San Bernardino, CA 92410. For more information, contact Silvia at email@example.com. RSVP here.
